Abstract1

We are pleased to launch this exciting new journal. Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine (COGRM) is a bi-monthly open access journal which publishes original manuscripts pertaining to the broad areas of women’s health and reproductive medicine.  The journal emphasizes the notion of a contemporary approach to disseminating important clinical and translational information and aspires to be a leading cutting edge medium that disseminates forward thinking, empirically grounded, theoretically sound, clinically practical ideas.

Contributions may focus on empirical research, clinical practice, and/or health care policy. All articles are expected to address emerging trends in the dynamic contemporary women’s health care and reproductive medicine landscape.  Accordingly, contributions should include specific research, practice, and policy implications for women’s health care and reproductive medicine worldwide.  The journal emphasizes multi-disciplinary perspectives and will accept manuscripts from all relevant areas of reproduction, contraception, obstetrics and gynecology that include reproductive endocrinology, reproductive physiology, assisted reproductive technologies, cloning, environmental effects on reproductive health, infertility, family planning, sexual health, obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis, materno-fetal medicine, midwifery, perinatology, gynecological urology, gynecological oncology, gynecological endocrinology, general gynecology, menopause, psychology, counseling, health care economics and administration that pertain to women’s health care and reproductive medicine.

COGRM provides an ideal forum to scientists and clinical professionals in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology throughout the world, in various formats: full length and letter length research papers, survey papers, review articles, work-in-progress reports on promising developments, case studies / best practice articles written by industry experts, tutorials on up-and-coming technological breakthroughs, medical news, new drug updates, short communications, correspondence, images in medical practice, clinical problem solving, perspectives and letters to the editor. The journal’s editorial board is strongly convinced this initiative will provide science-driven, peer-reviewed articles conforming to the strict international processes and editorial standards expected by the scientific community. COGRM is published six times a year. To ensure rapid dissemination of information, we aim at completing the review process of each paper within 2 months of initial submission.

COGRM is committed to publishing all manuscripts receiving a high or top priority recommendation during the review process, whereas those receiving medium priority will be considered for publication on a case-by-case basis. In addition, publication of manuscripts receiving the top priority will be fast tracked, that is, they will be published online within 1 week. This policy reflects my interest in quickly publishing all manuscripts judged to be the most impactful during the peer review process.

Further, we will periodically issue special calls for papers to modernize and strengthen areas of research and development showcased in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine and will be published as special issues. Authors with suggestions for special issues are invited to contact the Editors-in-Chief with their proposals.

We look forward to receiving and reviewing first-rate, original manuscripts from authors who share our common mission to use science, practice, and advocacy to improve the care of Women health care patients.
