Emil Srebočan
Prof. Emil Srebočan graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1980 and became a fellow at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the same faculty; Assistant in the same Department in 1981. Done with master's degree at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 1985.
Worked on study entitled "On the distribution of lead and histological changes in parenchymal organs of chickens experimentaly poisoned with lead acetate", in 1986 for 4 months in Patuxent Environmental Science Center, National Biological Survey, U.S. Department of the Interior, Laurel, Maryland, USA. He received scholarship awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a period of 1988 -1992. Employed at the Department outpatient clinic performing field work in the course of Internal diseases of domestic animals. In 1989. doctorial thesis at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb.
Also studied on, "Research in size, extent and source of contamination of animal by cadmium in Croatia. In 1992 Prof. Emil Srebočan moved to the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and was appointed to position assistant professor, In 1998 appointed as professor, in the same Department, In 2003 appointed to position of full professor; In 2008, appointed to position of full professor with tenure in the same Department. In 1992 lecturer in postgraduate courses (Toxicology of foods of animal origin; Poisoning in pat animal; Clinical Toxicology of insecticides and raticides in animals; Non-infectious diseases and poisonings of bees) Under the new curriculum lead subject “ Toxicology of animal foodstuff “ in doctorial study and three subjects within professional studies; subject Intoxication of wild animals within course Breeding and pathology of the game, subject Intoxication within course Pathology and breeding of domestic carnivores, subject Clinical Toxicology of insecticides and raticides in animals within course Sanitation.
Prof. Emil Srebočan is a member of the Croatian Veterinary society and Croatian Toxicological Society. He published many articles and his research intersts include hevy metals (Cd, Pb, Hg), pesticides, POP-s in domestioc and wild animals.
